meet the family

Ron and Carmella (Pangallo) were married on 9/16/72. Carm was not a farming kid, but learned quickly that family and farming went together nicely. While Ron farmed, Carm was often by his side, or in the barn milking cows. Currently, they both hold "off the farm jobs" as well. Ron is a School Bus driver for LaidLaw transportation at the Odessa-Montour Central School, Odessa, NY and Carm is the Town Clerk/Collector for the Town of Catharine in Odessa, NY. Work ethic and family values are something they have proudly passed on to their 4 children.

Nicole (Niki) is a Registered Nurse, specializing in Emergency Care and Intensive Care. She has worked in such places as Robert Packer Hospital in Pa., Honolulu, Hi, Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY, Rochester Strong Memorial in Rochester, NY. She is a flight nurse for Mercy Flight Central (an air ambulance) out of Marcellus, NY and a Paramedic with Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corp. and currently living in Syracuse with her boyfriend, Tim Wolsey who we hope is the next member of the family! Besides nursing, Niki is the "publicity director" for the creamery, and a member of the Pit Crew for Ron White Motorsports.

Christina is married to Randy Hoyt, and has two beautiful children -  Taryn and Austin Nikoah. She graduated from Nursing school with her Registered Nurse credentials on June 24, 2005, and now works at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in OB. Randy works for Wagner Hardwoods in Cayuta, NY. Chris is also involved in the creamery as a "back-up" cheesemaker. Tayrn has come to love helping "Nanny" in the cheesehouse. She will become the next cheesemaker, as well as the the next farm hand as she loves to help her Pappi and Uncle Jer on the farm--she milks cows, feeds calves and if we let her, she'd love to drive the tractors--not yet, Taryn you have to grow up to reach the pedals first!!

Valerie is married to Shaun Cannon and has has 3 children, Margaret, Mackenzie and Braiden who was born on Easter Sunday 2006. Valerie is studying to be a Physical Education teacher at SUNY Cortland, Cortland, NY. She also works as a Clinical Assistant in the Intensive Care Unit at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira NY.
Shaun works at Watkins Glen Supply in Watkins Glen, NY. Margaret is a student at Watkins Glen Middle School. Val is the other "back-up" cheesemaker for the creamery. She hasn't quite gotten the hang of the cheesemaking yet, but will soon. She and her mom spend a lot of time in the production room cutting and wrapping cheese.

Jeremy is back on the farm after his tour of duty in Iraq.  He has worked back into the farm routine quite well and is happy to be back on US soils!  He says his experience in Iraq is one he won't ever forget.  He made some good friends while over there and keeps in touch with most of them now that he is home.  He is following in more of his father's footsteps than we would have imagined as he is also a bus driver for Laidlaw at Odessa Montour Central School. Jeremy will become the 5th generation owner of the 100 yr. old family farm and the creamery.

Zach Williams--although not one of our own kids, sure does fit in like one. Zach is a cousin who has just returned from his Basic and Advanced Individual Training for the Army National Guard.  He is following in Jeremy's footsteps as he too is an Army Medic.  He is unsure of the direction he will pursue now that that part of his life is completed--he is thinking about going back to school to get his degree.

As well as being farmers, the entire family is involved in fire fighting. All are members of various fire departments. Most carry Emergency Medical Technician status.
